Curry & Mint Ice Cream – A Unique Dessert Served by Ice Cream Trucks

Have you ever wondered why the taste of ice creams and desserts served at wedding or birthday parties is far different from what you get served at ice cream parlors? Even when you try preparing those ice creams at your home, you do not get the exact taste which was catered at that event.

Ice Cream

The reason simply is that many ice cream trucks in Toronto have their own secret recipes, which they have codified during their years of experience and knowledge. What their menu card displays is the ingredients they add in their dish, but not the quantity. Using the right quantity when making ice creams at home would only give you that amazing taste.

Here are the recipes of two unique desserts catered by ice cream truck for events; by following these procedures, you can formulate that amazing taste, which you were served with at your friend’s party –
Curry & Mint Ice Cream

Ingredients – 2 cups of half foamed or whipped cream, 1 cup whole milk, ½ cup fresh mint leaves, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½ sweet paprika, ½ tsp turmeric, a little salt, 1 cup sugar, 6 egg whites, and choco chips for garnish.

Method –
  1. Mix well and boil cream, milk, turmeric, coriander, paprika, mint leaves and salt. Keep stirring until the mixture boils, post which, allow at least 10 minutes for it to rest at room temperature.
  2. Beat egg whites and sugar to get a thick paste. Add the hot cream mixture slowly with the beaten white and sugar.
  3. Now you have to cook it over a low heat, while stirring continuously, to make the mixture thicker. Allow it to cool at normal room temperature, before pouring it in ice cream bowls and sending those bowls into freezer. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the bowls before placing them into the freezer.
Maximum preparation time for this dessert is 30 minutes, while freezing might take additional three to four hours.
